Assessment of Bipedal and Quadrupedal Locomotion

Part I see this journal 1989; 2: 11-5 In a previous review article (1) the basic principles of biokinematical analysis of locomotion were presented. The present paper discusses technologies and methods for both biokinematical and biokinetical analyses of locomotion. The many noninvasive technologies available for locomotion analysis are generally similar for bipeds and quadrupeds and most have exploited recent advances in computer technology, sensor design and miniaturization of electronic circuitry (2, 3).
