Warping Techniques for Light Fields

A light field [3, 1] is a four-dimensional represen-tation of the light exiting from, or incident in, abounded region of 3D space. Usually, a light fieldis parameterized by pairs of 2D coordinates on twoparallel planes. At least six such pairs of planes(called slabs) are needed to represent the completelight distribution around the desired region. Allrays that pass through the same point on one ofthe planes build up a sheared perspective image onthe other plane (cf. Fig. 1). This is why the twoplanes are often distinguished as the eye plane or
