Scalar Analysis and Similarity Conditions of Marine Environment Physical Simulation

The physical simulation of environment dynamic field in a large sea area is a developing direction of physical model experiment,and is also an effective research method for offshore environmental regulation.The effect of neglect of geostrophic action shall be considered in making a physical simulation for a large-scale sea area.In this paper,a method for evaluating the order of Coriolis force term is suggested by nondimensionalizing the governing equations of tidal current,the scale analyses are made for several typical Chinese bays,the errors due to the neglect of geostrophic action in making the physical simulations are calculated,and the practicability of physical model experiment for these sea areas is then discussed.More-(over,) the simularity scale relations for the tidal current and sediment experiment and the tidal current and pollutant dispersion experiment are also derived.
