In this paper,an approach based on fuzzy prorating method and fuzzy synthetic assessment was proposed to allocate the reliability indices,by utilizing the existing reliability information from the similar version of aeroengine in the early design phase.The proposed approach not only considers the reliability information and data from the old version products,but also combines the information from fuzzy synthetic assessment as a complement.This method efficiently utilizes the certain and uncertain information simultaneously to further optimize the reliability allocation results.
