BFRP AND ITS APPLICATION REVIEW IN STRUCTURAL STRENGTHENING

The continous basalt fibre reinforced polymer/plastic(BFRP)is a new fibrous composite.Compared with the widely used carbon fiber reinforced polymer/plastic(CFRP),BFRP has many advantages in ductility,high thermal resistance,corrosion resistance and cost.Therefore BFRP can replace or mix CFRP in structural strengthening in some cases.The general and the prospective developments of BFRP in structural member strengthening are fully summarized and prospected from development,properties,experimental investigations aspects in this paper.Remained problems and key issues which need to be resolved in future are pointed out.
