Demonstration of fast optical protection in ROADM system with one-chip color/direction-independent add/drop multiplexer employing silicon photonic circuit

We experimentally demonstrated wavelength path and transponder fault recovery in ROADM system with one-chip color/direction-independent add/drop multiplexers employing silicon photonic circuit. Fault recovery time of less than 50 ms was achieved for both fault cases.
