Examinee and Accession Quality: Past and Present,

Abstract : Most published research on military recruiting has focused on characteristics of accessions without considering those of examinees. To more fully understand the selection process and recruiting results, it is important to analyze not only the quality of those who enter the military but also the quality of the larger examinee group from which accessions must be drawn. This paper traces both examinee and accession test score trends since 1964 and considers the implications of the data for military manpower policy in the 1980s. (Author)
