Preliminary Study on Water-saving Ship Lock

This paper introduces the layout of water-saving ship locks in Germany and gives an exposition on its advantages and disadvantages.The analysis of the design principle of water-saving ship locks,the calculation of the relation of water-saving rate with the area and steps of storage basin,as well as the investigation to the layout of water-saving basin,etc.,which are offered in this paper,may serve as a guidance for waterway and ship lock design.
