Some decomposition methods in the analysis of repetitive structures

Abstract In this paper, we are interested in a two decomposition method based on the partition of the structure in some substructures: the iterative substructure method and the method based on the symmetry groups. We consider a symmetric and repetitive structure. One can meet such symmetrical structure in many domains such as chemistry, mathematics and structural mechanics (rotor, stator for example), etc. Both static and dynamic cases are considered. The two methods can be applicable to bidimensional and tridimensional problems with arbitrary loadings. Finally, the numerical tests, relative to the static and dynamic cases, illustrate our case.
