A Functional Approach to the C-E Translation of Tourism-Related Introductory Texts

With reference to Halliday's functional linguistics and Nida's proposal of functional equivalence,this article mainly deals with the guiding significance of the Halliday-proposed metafunctions of language in the translating of tourism-related introductory texts,arguing that two textual analyses have to be conducted for the sake of comprehending whether the translated version successfully reproduces the functions represented in the source text.Further,this article tries to figure out the possible function-based differences between the ST and TT and propound some reflections on this issue.
