Impact analysis on voltage unbalance of EVs charging on a low voltage distribution system

This paper presents analysis of voltage unbalance impact of EVs charging on a LV distribution system. Simulation model and analysis in DIgSILENT program is divided into three case studies i.e. balance, phase A only and random EVs charging. This impact assessment is based on the PEA's big cities power system planning criteria 2013. Simulation results show that, phase A only charged has the voltage unbalance more than random charged by 3.44 times. In addition, the feeder has voltage unbalance more than LV distribution transformer by 1.47 times. However, it has no effect to voltage unbalance in case of balance charging. In addition, the voltage unbalance ratio and trend rise at all positions in the system and all case studies with all initial values of the system voltage unbalance analysis.
