Intelligent reversible digital watermarking technique using interpolation errors

Reversible watermarking enables the concealing of useful information in a generic signal without loss of either embedded or host signal. Due to the capability of exactly recovering the original content, reversible watermarking is highly favored in fields sensitive to image quality like medical, military imaging and astrophysics research. This paper aims at reducing the embedding distortion and improving watermark payload. Additive interpolation error expansion technique proposed by Luo[3] is further investigated and an enhanced interpolation error expansion technique is proposed by incorporating with Genetic Algorithm(GA) which better estimates the missing pixels and intelligently improve the embedding capacity. Experimental results reveal that the proposed strategy outperforms state of art works into terms of perceptual quality and high embedding capacity.
