Effects of the electron interaction on the electron-lattice coupling in C60.

A particular lattice coupling of the conduction-band electrons in C[sub 60] is investigated in detail. For this purpose, a model Hamiltonian is used which is based on results of previous [ital ab] [ital initio] correlation calculations for the molecule. It is found that this coupling is enhanced by interaction effects of the electrons although they are only weakly correlated.
