Study on Sliding Tribological Properties of Bismaleimide Filled with Wollastonite Against Hard Al

The sliding friction and wear properties of bismaleimide filled with different amount and size of wollastonite were studied against hard Al on a pin-on disc tribometer. The mechanisms that wollastonite adjust the tribology properties of BMI were analyzed by means of SEM. It has been showed that wollastonite can raise the wear resistance of BMI and reduce its sliding frictional coefficient with the increase of amount and decrease of size of wollastonite. The reasons of wollastonite increasing wearability are that wollastonite promotes BMI to form firm transfer film on the Al surface.
