Inthispaper, we present a robust pitchestimation algorithm fornoise-degraded speech. We propose anew circular average magnitude sumfunction (CAMSF)anda pseudo normalized correlation function (PNCF)bothof whichexhibit theperiodicity atthepitch period ofvoiced speech. Exploiting thefact that CAMSF produces apeak while PNCF showsanotch, anintegrated time-domain function (ITDF)isdeveloped toenhance thepitchharmonic-notches inpresence ofnoise. Moreover, a frequency-frame relative smoothed noisyspectrum that acts asaharmonic spectral structure enhancer isutilized to accurately acquire a pitch-harmonic (PH)fromnoisy speech. We arguedthatemploying thePH, pitch information canbe effectively extracted through a variable-period impulse-train inconjunction withthe proposed ITDF.Ithasbeenascertained that theoverall algorithm simulated using theKeele reference database is able tooutperform someoftheexisting methods andwell suited forawiderangeofsignal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) upto-10dB.
