Handling Assist System Using Dynamic Inversion

This paper introduces handling assist systems to be aimed at easy handling to change or align the flight direction to a desired path. One is a level turn handling assist system without banking, which resembles bicycle riding with training wheels, for a beginner pilot. The other is an enhanced version of the handling assist system with respect to maneuverability. This system allows bank to turn while the handling is still easy. The systems use a nonlinear dynamic inversion controller to adapt nonlinear maneuver. Both systems can make a level turn or a turn without changing a flight path angle by merely leaning a stick to the right or left.
