IR-UWB radar system and tag design for time-coded chipless RFID

This paper presents a tag design for time-coded chipless RFID and wireless sensor applications. The tag consists of a ultra-wide band (UWB) scattering antenna connected to a delay line, which encodes the information. The tag is measured using an RFID system based on a low-cost time-domain impulse-radio UWB radar, achieving read ranges up to 1.80 meters.
