Frequency selective compensation technology of digital 16 QAM for microcellular mobile radio communication system

A microcellular personal mobile radio communication system utilizing a high efficiency digital modulation (16 QAM) and demodulation system at 256-kb/s with a frequency utilization factor of more than 2.0 b/s/Hz is proposed. A frequency-selective fading compensation method for digital 16 QAM is presented. The compensation characteristics realized by applying the proposed system were evaluated through a computer simulation. The results revealed that as a microcellular digital mobile radio communication system the proposed method is effective as a countermeasure against frequency-selective fading.<<ETX>>
