Experimental investigation of the statistics of the interplay between nonlinear and PDL effects in polarization multiplexed systems

Experimental studies of the combined nonlinear and PDL effects reveal that interplay between fiber nonlinearity and PDL changes the shape of the Q-distribution, which becomes narrower and asymmetric, depending on system parameters.
