Block ordered JBSTBC scheme in highly correlated MIMO channels

The paper proposes a JBSTBC (joint beamforming space-time block coding) scheme, for MIMO (multi-input multi-output) communication systems. To enhance the order of spatial diversity in the presence of deteriorative fading correlation as well as inter-substream interference, the proposed JBSTBC method employs a joint eigen-beamforming technique together with the block ordered STBC decoding scheme. In order to confirm the superiority of the proposed JBSTBC method, computer simulations are conducted in highly correlated fading situations with detailed mathematical derivations provided to clarify the functionality of the proposed scheme.
