The Amazon and its main affluents: Hydrography, morphology of the river courses, and river types

The geological history of Amazonia (Putzer, Chapter 2) resulted in the formation of the greatest river system on earth. 7050000 km2 of land drain toward the Amazon and are interlaced by an uncountable number of large and small rivers and streams.
