Servo application of a model reference-based adaptive fuzzy control

The paper describes a design and practical implementation of a model reference adaptive fuzzy control scheme in the angular speed control loop of a DC motor drive. The control scheme being implemented contains a fuzzy adaptation algorithm that dynamically adjusts the level of the basic fuzzy controller's output. The experimental results indicate marked improvement of the dynamic performance in case of parameter and load variations.
