Systematic development of a complex personal health assistance system explained by the example of GEWOS activity furniture

In this article the systematic development of a complex personal health assistance system is being explained using the example of the GEWOS Fitness/Motion Chair. In doing so, we go into the possibilities and potentials, as well as the challenges and difficulties associated with AAL innovation projects and illustrate the problem-solving approach pursued in the project GEWOS. Furthermore it is explained in which way an innovation and technology management that is completely aligned with the project controlled the cooperation throughout the different dimensions. Subsequently, the complementary formation of the individual project dimensions is being shown in detail. Finally, difficulties that cropped up during the project and the transferability of the applied + strategies to other AAL-related product developments is being discussed.
