The finite element analysis model to the U shape bellows is presented and calculated by the ANSYS program under diverse loads for in plane instability.The calculation results indicate that the in plane instability of non reinforced U shape bellows relies on the appearance of plastic region in the circular plane of bellows.It is also proved that the simulation of multilayer bellows by monolayer structure can be applied to the research of in plane instability of bellows.
