In Search of Alternative Propellants for Ion Thrusters IEPC-2015-320 / ISTS-2015-b-320

We present a comparative overview about properties of materials suitable for electric propulsion. Furthermore, new types of materials that fulfill most of the recommended properties will be introduced as a potential alternative propellant. A newly built experimental setup facilitating the performance analysis of these materials will be presented.
