A Novel Control Scheme for Buck-Boost DC to AC Converter for Variable Frequency Applications

Abstract This paper represents a novel control scheme for buck-boost DC to AC converter in variable frequency operation. Voltage controlled dual slope delta modulator is designed to reduce the harmonic distortion of the output voltage for variable frequency applications. The output of the buck-boost converter with the proposed control scheme produces near sinusoidal voltage of constant magnitude irrespective of the frequency. The total harmonic distortion of the proposed scheme is under 4% which within IEEE Std 519 Voltage Harmonic Limits.
