Narrow-band pulsed dye laser system for precision nonlinear spectroscopy

We report a CW oscillator/pulsed amplifier dye laser system that produces 20 kW of diffraction limited radiation with a linewidth of 17 ± 4 MHz. The key component is a unique long pulse Nd:YAG pump laser.
