The research and application of H2/H∞ control theory in SVC

Because of the H<sub>2</sub>/H<sub>infin</sub> control has good robustness and performance, the H<sub>2</sub>/H<sub>infin</sub> control strategy of SVC is designed for improving the voltage characteristics, damping system oscillation. In the three-phrase short simulation, the transient responses of the main parameters of the H<sub>2</sub>/H<sub>infin</sub> controller and the conventional controller are compared and analyzed. The result demonstrates that the H<sub>2</sub>/H<sub>infin</sub>, control makes the overshoot adjustment smaller and down time shorter and enhances the voltage characteristics. The H<sub>2</sub>/H<sub>infin</sub> SVC controller can damp systems oscillation quickly, improve the dynamic performance stability of power system and voltage characteristics at the location of SVC greatly and has good dynamic quality and robustness.
