A Communication Method for Asynchronous Visible Light Communication Based Image Sensor

In recent years, smart devices such as smartphone have spread rapidly. Smart devices generally have the camera with frame rates 60 to 120 fps. These cameras are expected to be applied to Visible Light Communication. In a previous study, we proposed a method to uniquely estimate phase difference between the camera and LED from asynchronous frame images. Moreover, we confirmed the error caused asynchronous communication, and identified the cause. In this paper, we propose the communication method robust to errors. We conducted communication experiment to evaluate the proposed method. The experiment results show that the proposed communication method can achieve error free communication when we used the 8PSK as a modulation method.
