Cell management method and system

The present invention provides a cell management method and a system relating to the field of inter-cell interference process. The problem of inconvenience for unified network maintenance, which is caused by Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) initiated and implemented by a base station and distributed management of inter-cell interference in the prior art, is solved. The cell management method includes: setting ICIC identification value used for indicating whether the performance of ICIC is permitted; sending to an Element Management System (EMS) a message including the ICIC identification value. The present invention could be applied to the Long Term Evolution system.
