Study on contact resistance of 10kV switch cabinet

With the continuous development of power system, the frequency of use of the switch cabinet continues to increase. And the switch cabinet internal contact heat is the main cause of the switch cabinet operation damage and explosion fire. In this paper, the heat balance of the switch cabinet system is analyzed by the thermal network method, and the contact temperature value of different contact resistance is obtained. And then it use KYN28-12 10kV switch cabinet as the research object. It use ANSYS software to mode and Simulate temperature of switch cabinet contact temperature and heating condition under different contact resistance. The corresponding relationship between the temperature and the contact resistance is found in the simulation. It provides a reliable theoretical basis for judge the heating conditions of the contact by comparing the calculated results with the simulation results.
