Analysis of Revealed Comparative Advantage in the E-service market

Again, the exportation of services is not new. What is new is the degree to which information and communications technologies are facilitating the rapid acceleration of service exportation, and in the process, persuasively challenging the "traditional" assumption that a worldwide presence requires a physical presence worldwide. The question is that which countries have a comparative advantage in the export of e-services and why? To answer this question, the following discussion will focus on the related aspects of e-service usage as well as revealed comparative advantage (RCA) index. While the related statistics of the developing countries for the "communication" services, "Insurance" services and "construction" services are not available, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness of e-services in the fields of "computer and information" services; "financial" services, "transportation " services and "travel" services in these countries. For the above mentioned four, three indices of revealed comparative advantages (RCA) are calculated.
