Penguins Search Optimization Algorithm to Solve Quadratic Assignment Problem

This paper presents an application of new metaheuristics, based on the penguins hunting strategy, Penguins search optimization algorithm (PeSOA) for solving one of the most difficult NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems in discret case the Quadratic assignment problem (QAP).In this adaptation of PeSOA we redefined the different PeSOA algorithmic elements that are operators and the values of its variables to get the best result with PeSOA to solve QAP. The performance of the proposed adaptation PeSOA is tested against a set of QAPLIB instances library. The results of the tests show that adaptation is superior to some other metaheuristics algorithms.
