Retrofit and Numerical Simulation study on Horizontal Bias Burner of Coal-fired Utility Boiler

For problems like occurring furnace fire difficulties, unstable combustion and the water cooled wall slagging due to burning different kinds of coal kinds and the declining of medium in the tangentially fried boiler in some power plants, adapting the horizontal bias combustion technology to reform its primary air. It can be seen from the numerical simulation that applying the bias block and partition board to control the pulverized coal flow, the ratio of the pulverized coal quality from rich side to the light side is 1.5, which can achieve the furnace horizontal bias combustion, the horizontal exaltation of the temperature of the layout area of the furnace burner, the pulverized coal easy to be on fire and the steady state of burning, and which can also reduce the possibility of the water cooled wall slagging. By the comparison this is in well agreement with the boiler field test results.
