KITS, A GENERAL APPROACH FOR KNOWLEDGE-BASED TRAFFIC CONTROL MODELS

This paper outlines the approach followed in the KITS project which is developing a knowledge-based system for traffic control and management to be extensively field-tested during 1993 and 1994. The functionalities of the prototype are introduced and the overall strategy for organizing and modelling domain knowledge is presented. A brief description of the methodology for model building is provided illustrated by some examples of modelling features.
