INSULATION RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT OF GENERATOR STATOR WINDING AND ANALYSIS OF ITS MINIMUM ALLOWABLE VALUE

The insulation resistance measurement of generator stator winding is one of the effective methods to diagnose the insulation state of the winding being tested. There are still great difference between domestic and foreign standards on the stipulation including the minimum allowable value of insulation resistance and the conversion relation of insulation resistance at different temperatures, so that it is impossible to determine the real insulation state on site. Based on the above mentioned various minimum allowable values and conversion relations of insulation resistance, a systematic comparison is presented in this paper, and then, the reasonable minimum allowable value and conversion relation have been recommended by domestic and foreign experiences, in addition, relevant domestic standards have been suggested.
