Production of Hypernatremia and Hyperosmolarity in the Diabetes Insipidus Dog Infused with Ringer's Solution

Infusion of isotonic Ringer's solution led to hypernatremia and plasma hyperosmolarity in diabetes insipidus dogs. This phenomenon suggests a safe and reliable test for diabetes insipidus which does not require collection of urine.
