Waveguide lowpassfilters (LPFs) areusedwidely insatellite payload foritsstop-band performance. Design procedure fordouble ridged waveguide LPFwithwiderstop- bandispresented inthis paper, therectangular andridged waveguide discontinuity junctions aresimulated bymodalS- matrix method, andsuchwaveguide junctions andwaveguide sections arecascaded toobtain thewholeS-parameters ofLPF. Final, thestructure parameters ofLPF are achieved through optimization. As an example, a Ku-banddoubleridged waveguide LPFisrealized, andthemeasured response agree wellwiththepredicted values.
