Shaking table model tests on soil slope reinforced with geo-grid

A series of shaking table tests are conducted to study the failure behavior of a large-scale soil slope. The model slope,1.3m high,3.58m long and 0.8m wide,is built with soil material of a slope ratio 1∶1.6.With the focus on the failure behavior of high slope, improvement on slope stability by appropriate reinforcement with geo-gird and the influence of the reinforcement length and desity on the potential slip face and yield acceleration are studied. The results show the detailed collapsing behavior of side slope under the earthquake excitations will provide useful data to analyze the failure mechanism and seismic response of side slope.
