Combined with gray modeling methods, aimed at the top three Olympic track and field sports achievements, the study established GM (1,1) gray prediction model group and made residual model test. It showed that: (1) Forecasting model group had high-precision, three models had the forecast accuracy of 100%, 27 models’ prediction accuracy has achieved over 99.5% and the rest of the models’ forecasts Accuracy is greater than 98.05%; (2) The models had wide adaptation range and may provide help for personal performance or group scores prediction; (3) The study predicted the 30th London Olympic track and field achievements by using the multidimensional grey prediction model , and defined numerically the ceiling and bottom limits of most projects for the top three results; (4) By comparing the results between the different studies, we found that our models Our models’ prediction accuracy is the highest, and almost involves the most events. The research result will provide the theoretical basis and reference for the relevant department’s decision-makers or coaches and athletes in the next Olympic Games.
