L'A. presente une generalisation de la notion standard de monotonicite a gauche (sur l'argument nominal d'un determinant) et de monotonicite a droite (sur l'argument verbal du determinant). Il examine ensuite les facteurs qui reduisent le potentiel inferentiel des determinants. Il analyse pour cela le comportement de differents types de determinants comparatifs
