This work aims to synthesize the available data on the social hierarchy in the Argaric culture. This data come from four main sources: 1) the internal organization of the villages, the presence of public buildings in them, and differences in production and consumption, including suggested workshops and standardized products; 2) data on the differences among the settlements in productive activities and control of land and its resources; 3) data on differential consumption of subsistence products and activities carried by people according to paleopathologic and isotopic analysis, an aspect discussed here in short; 4) data on differential access to certain products-means of production even beyond death as part of grave goods.
