Vibration analysis applied in cavitation monitoring of a centrifugal pump

Vibration signals of cavitation in a centrifugal pump were acquired with acceleration transducers mounted on different positions in order to find the cavitation characteristics.The test results showed that the measuring point B mounted on the pump case is more sensitive to cavitation and more suitable to act as a monitoring point;the signals reveal a up-down trend,and have obvious peak values in 6kHz and 8kHz;the band vibration acceleration levels in 5 kHz~8 kHz and 8 kHz~12 kHz,and the broadband vibration acceleration levels in 5 kHz~12 kHz have about 10dB uprising after cavitation,which can clearly reflect the vibration tendency of cavitation,and can be used as indicators for cavitation monitoring.
