The identification of preisach hysteresis model based on piecewise identification method

Hysteresis hinders the precision of smart materials in sensors and actuators and impedes the development of smart material actuators. This paper addresses a novel piecewise identification approach of hysteresis in smarts materials, where hysteresis is modeled by discrete Preisach operator. The hysteresis curve is divided into Preisach planes based on monotonic changing of input. For every Preisach plane, the relationship of input, output, the Preisach operator and the Preisach function is reached and the Preisach function is identified. Compare with the identification of first order transition curves and the new approach, that new approach avoids the effect of wiping-out property in Preisach model. The new method can also precise identify the parameters of Preisach function in comparison with the least-squares method. Simulation and experimental results based on piezoceramic actuator are provided to illustrate the proposed approach.
