Dynamic reconfiguration of solar systems for avoiding MPPT faults due to architectural partial shading

This paper proposes a solar string reconfiguration approach based on on-demand solar panels bypassing. The system embeds advanced single module monitoring features and doesn't require additional wiring. The proposed approach is specially suitable for recovering power losses coming from MPPT faults in partially shaded systems and can be adopted in real time operation. Experiments performed on a medium size solar system evidence the reliability of the method.
