FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating) strain sensors based on similar material were designed according to the size of the geological mechanics model test, which can detect transverse, longitudinal and tangential strain synchronously. Then 7 FBG strain sensors were pre-embedded successively at left of laneway surrounding rock.Whereafter, fiber optics sensing network was built by adopting WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) to real-timely monitor strain of the model test. The results detected by FBG strain sensors indicate that the radial strain of deep laneway surrounding rock does not descent with distance to laneway in laneway excavating experiment, while it presents as undulant arrangement, and the radial strain still presents as undulant arrangement with the distance to laneway in laneway excavating experiment after overloading experiment.Splitting the model, zonal disintegration of deep laneway wall rock under high ground stress is observed successfully, which validates that the FBG strain sensors are reliable.
