Spatial organization in 2D images

Information about the spatial organization in an image is an important clue towards identifying, or interpreting the contents of the image. In this paper the authors present a fuzzy logic method of representation, recognition and description of spatial relations between regions in an image which takes into account shape, size, orientation, or more generally a region as a whole. The method can be applied equally to crisp and fuzzy regions of the image, or combinations of these. Several examples are used to illustrate the results given by this method.<<ETX>>
