Unified model of reinforced concrete structures of multi-story or high-rise buildings during construction

A unified model was developed to organize construction conveniently and check safety of the structures in site for reinforced concrete structures of multi-story or high-rise buildings. The model accounted for stiffness of the foundation and the insufficient level shores. Analyzing results show that the loads on the lowest several slab levels in the buildings will increase with decreasing foundation stiffness for some types of construction schedules, and may even exceed the maximum slab load. When the stiffness of foundation is decreased to 0.5 times thickness of the slab, and the maximum slab load will be over the maximum slab load of the rigid foundation by as much as 3.2%; the insufficient level shores will increase loads on the slab and reduce the loads under the slab by as much as 4.3%. Consequently, foundation stiffness and insufficient level shores should be taken into account during construction.
