Modeling and control of 4-phase floating interleaving boost converter

Fuel cell systems are current intensive sources, so that their output voltage must be increased to approximately a few hundred volts to be suitable for vehicles power trains or for any potential practical application. For this purpose, boost converter power electronic stages are required. In this paper, a small-signal ac model of high voltage ratio low input current ripple 4-phase Floating Interleaved Boost Converter (FIBC) using PWM switch method will be developed as well as controller design using frequency response techniques will be carried out. Simulation results of 4-phase FIBC using Simplorer will be presented to validate the small-signal ac model and the controller design.
