An Approach to Bus Network Design Problems by Genetic Algorithm

This paper proposes a genetic algorithm-based approach to solve the bus network design problem. First this paper selects the object function by analysis of the characteristics of bus travel and obtains the constraints of bus network design by "Urban Road Traffic Design Specification." Second this paper researches the selection of the origin station in the network by the traffic demand of the area. Third this paper uses a genetic algorithm-based approach, which involves a new coding mode to solve the bus network problem. Finally, an example is used to prove the efficiency of the approach.
